Agora

Some stuff from my visit to the Athenian Agora on October 14, 2025. (Under construction.)

As will be true for several of the videos here, I had to re-record the audio for the first video back home in Southern Illinois as the original was garbled by wind, an errant finger of the microphone, or other mishaps.

I’m on the top floor of the Stoa of Attalus, overlooking the Agora from the west. The temple right across the way is the Hephasteion. The video also pauses briefly over the columns of the Odeion of Agrippa, a theater built by Agrippa, who was the emperor Augustus’ right-hand man.

Now to a rather more successful video taken at the northern corner of the Stoa.

And one more from the stoa, this one giving me an excuse to rattle on a bit about the later history of the site.
